Spring 2025 Fishing Report!

We had a great winter this year in Montana. Livingston set a record with 31 inches of snow during the second half of February. It was an awesome winter for skiing! We are currently hovering at 97%-100% of our average snow pack, so things are looking fantastic for this coming fishing season. We should have a healthy amount of cold, clear water for our fish to enjoy! The Spring fishing has been decent/good, and is turning to great, as we progress through the month of April. As things warm up, so does the water TEMPERATURE. The Mother’s Day Caddis Hatch is just around the corner! Give us a call to book your April/Early May fishing trip!

April/Early May fishing options

  • Floating the Yellowstone. Our home water is really starting to turn on. We have been seeing Beatis hatches in the afternoons (on non-windy days, of course!). The Nymphing has been strong, and the streamer bite is heating up.

  • Walk/Wading the Gardner River. The General Fishing season in YNP does not open until May 24 this year, but the Gardner River is open year-around for the first time! If you like fishing pocket water, climbing over rocks, and not seeing other anglers… This is a fun place to fish.

  • The Spring Creeks near Livingston are fishing very well as more fish are moving into the creeks. This is expert level fishing with very light tippet and small flies.

  • Our Secluded Lakes are a great option, especially in May when the Yellowstone is muddy. There are some big, healthy fish who are looking to feast after a long winter. These lakes have limited AVAILABILITY, so contact us ASAP.

Summer Fishing is Almost Here!

As stated above, our June-October fishing season is shaping up to be exceptional. We have a great SNOWPACK, and our fish numbers seem to be on the rise from spawning habitat created during the 2022 flood. Have you ever caught a Yellowstone CutThroat Trout? This will be a great summer to come out and fish! Give us a call today to schedule your 2025 fishing trip! We love fishing with guests of all ages and experience levels. We have thousands of miles of Rivers, creeks, streams, and lakes to explore. Let one of our professional fishing guides show you what Yellowstone Country has to offer!
