RATES AND TERMS

 

Full Day Float Trips (one or two anglers per guide):

  • $650 per guide - Drift boat/fishing raft float trips - include all flies, leaders, rods (if necessary), cold (non-alcoholic) beverages, an expert guide, and a delicious stream side lunch.

  • Trips are generally 8 hours in length

Half-Day Float Trips (one or two anglers per guide):

  • $550 per guide - Drift boat/fishing raft float trips - include all flies, leaders, rods (if necessary), cold (non-alcoholic) beverages, and an expert guide (lunch not included).

  • AM and PM half-day options are available. Trips are generally 4 hours in length.

Full Day Walk-wade Trips (one or two anglers per guide):

  • $650 per guide (for 1 or 2 anglers) - Walk wade trips - include all flies, leaders, rods (if necessary), cold (non-alcoholic) beverages, an expert guide, and a delicious stream side lunch.

  • Trips are generally 8 hours in length

  • $170 per additional angler (groups exceeding 2 anglers). With one fishing guide, we are able to accomodate groups of up to 5 people. With adult groups of 4 or 5, we strongly recommend hiring another guide to ensure quality instruction. When families are fishing with kids we can take a walk-wade trip with as many as 5 anglers/per 1 guide in Yellowstone National Park With the additional per angler cost of 170.00 for the 3rd-5th anglers.

Other Possible Expenses to Remember:

  • Guide Gratuities- Always greatly appreciated. Your guide works hard. Please consider gratuities if you enjoy your experience, gain new knowledge, and think your guide has earned a tip (full-day average $150-$200 per guide/day , half-day average $100-150 per guide/day - we recommend cash.

  • wader/boot rental (These can be rented for $35.00/pair and your guide will bring them to you the morning of your trip!)

  • Montana Fishing License

  • Y.N.P Fishing licenses

  • Y.N.P Entrance Pass

  • Private Ranch rod fees - for trips scheduled to private spring creeks or private lakes rod fees may apply (the fees range from $40 to $150 depending on the time of year).

Payment options- In order to reserve the date(s) of your trip, we require a 50% deposit at the time of your booking (outside of 40 days of your trip, within 40 days, full payment is due immediately). Payment can be made via personal check, cashier’s check, ACH transfer, or any major credit card through our secure SQUARE system. Checks should be made out to Yellowstone River Outfitters and mailed to us at 420 North 11th Street Livingston, MT 59047. 

When booking a trip with Yellowstone River Outfitters, you are agreeing to the terms below. Please read these terms carefully, as all terms are binding once a trip is booked. Receipt of deposit and/or final payment confirms that the client(s) has read and accepted our cancellation policy. .  

 

Deposits & Final Payment 

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking your trip to confirm all reservations. Final payments are due 40 days before a scheduled trip.  

Cancellations 

All trip cancellations must be made in writing as soon as possible and outside of 41 days of your trip to Yellowstone River Outfitters. Payments are non-refundable for cancellations made 40 days or less before a scheduled trip. 

For Bookings Outside of 40 days: the deposit is fully refundable less a 10% processing fee or a 100% credit can be carried over for a future booking if the cancellation is received prior to 40 days of the trip date. The client is committing to the specific day of the trip- moving/changing days will not be permitted. Montana weather is often variable, trips are not cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. There is no such thing as bad weather, just a poor choice of clothing. Please see our attached gear list to make sure you are ready to go! If you are at all concerned with the cancellation possibility, we strongly encourage you to purchase trip insurance.

 

For Bookings Inside of 40 Days: We take full payment up-front on all bookings made inside of 40 days from the first day of your scheduled trip. This payment is due at the time of booking. Within 40 days of your trip, the balance is non-refundable.

Weather/ Rescheduling/ Life Events- Refunds are not issued for fishing time lost due to inclement weather. Our trips go out in all safe weather and water conditions. Adverse weather, wind, smoky skies, varying water levels, or undesirable fishing conditions are not acceptable reasons to cancel and receive a refund. Montana weather is often variable, trips are not cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. There is no such thing as bad weather, just a poor choice of clothing. Please see our attached gear list to make sure you are ready to go. Waders/boots can be rented ($35/pair) to keep you warm and dry! No refunds are made due to any medical, family, or business emergencies or any unexpected travel or life events within 40 days of your trip. 

Rescheduling -Rescheduling a trip is the same as cancelling and rebooking a trip. We are unable to reschedule trips within 40 days of your trip.   

Hoot-Owl Restrictions: Hoot-owl restrictions on rivers will not be considered grounds for a cancellation with refund or a change of booked dates. We will adjust timing of trips to meet at 6AM-7:00AM, which allows for an 8-hour full day trip, including transit/hiking, prior to the 2PM cut-off mandated by Montana or YNP on rivers with Hoot-owl restrictions.   

 

COVID-19 -Many of our guides are fully vaccinated. Should you prefer a fully vaccinated guide, please make this request when booking your trip. Failure to request a vaccinated guide at the time of booking and/or outside 41 days or more from your trip is not an acceptable reason to cancel a trip and receive a refund.  

 

Other Contingencies-Yellowstone River Outfitters and its guides reserve the right to change itineraries due to unfavorable conditions or for any other reasons deemed necessary.  For example: If a float trip is scheduled, but conditions are unfavorable (muddy water, warm water, weather, etc.) your trip may be changed to a walk-wade trip.

We make no exceptions to our refund and cancellation policies. If you have any concerns about our cancellation policy for your fishing trip, please purchase trip insurance and reach out to us with any clarifying questions.

Trip Insurance- We realize you invest a lot of time and money in your fishing trip and travel to get to Montana. we highly recommend that you purchase trip insurance in advance. Unforeseen circumstances arise, and travel insurance is very reasonable should you have to cancel your trip for any reason. We recommend Travel Guard Travel Insurance or IMG, which may cover trip cancellations for any reason. *Trips may be cancelled at the discretion of the Yellowstone River Outfitters, its outfitter, or its guides at any time and all guide trip Balances will be refunded. This includes but is not limited to: conditions that jeopardize client and/or guide safety and guide availability/illness.

  • Layers (light fleece, etc. we have seen snow in July before!)

  • Small backpack (to carry personal items such water, lunch, rain jacket/lunch)

  • Waders (can be if needed for $35.00/pair- normally not needed during summer months)

  • Wading boots/ hiking sandals/ shoes you don’t mind getting wet (in Yellowstone National Park must be FELTLESS)

  • Hiking pants or shorts (quick dry material)

  • Sunscreen

  • Bug spray

  • Any medical equipment (EpiPen, inhalers, etc.)

  • Big smiles
