Yellowstone River Fly Fishing

There is a reason why they call Montana “Big Sky Country.” This picture was taken on a July sunset float on the Yellowstone River. The front of the boat is pointing directly toward Yellowstone National Park. The temperature of the water cools down in the evengs and we get some amazing caddis hatches. Also, no one else is on the river. It is hard not be relaxed and have a fun time when this is the back drop. In the summer, it can stay light up until 9:45 or 10 at night. I remember this picture was taken around 9:15 pm, the fish were active, and we didn’t see another boat on the water.
